Rize - A Tale of Da Fully Fit
Dis be one up of a movie. A krew of coulda-been hustlers make good in south central. day break it on down all ova da hood. y'hear wat i'm sayin'?
The Movie .

It's one of those movies you come out of and you wish you could dance. Reallly, dance. Like Kevin Bacon in Footloose or that girl in Dirty Dancing before she had the nose job. Yeah.
The moves are what one of the girls calls "part stripper dance, part clownin'," actually that might be what Krumpin' is ..which is one of the two dances - i think. There's a lot of dancin - part flailing, part poppin, part breakin, part grindin.
One thing we all agree on, Tommy the Clown, started the movement. And he's an inspiration. Got outta jail and became a hip hop clown and then it spread. Spread like the legs of some of the girls when they be poppin' (= dancin)- "but it's cool. little mama out there poppin', it aint sexual, there aint nobody out there with her. nobody touchin her she just out there havin a goood time " .. and they have such good times. "it's the same as they used to do it. Cept with make-up".
The dancin evolved to include Battlezones, dance comps between the different krews. And that's the highlight of the show. Two dancers face each other off in a full auditorium in Watts or Compton somewhere and just dance.
You got to see this movie. Its the best thing out of South Central since the last Cheech and Chong movie. Yeah!
I also hear there is a Bananarama come back album just released in the UK. Whad iz up wid dat ?
