Being There
I like to read other Blogs. " There are lots of different Blogs out there, Jimmie. " Unsurprisingly, considering TCBH, I prefer Blogs laced with four important qualities, in no particular order -
1 - Chat
2- Personal Reflections
3 - "Creative" writing
4 - Reportage (mainly of drug crazed bacchanlals )
Much of these four qualities can be found sprinkled among the frequently updated material of the imaginationin at,Gallimaufry .
But where Galli's verve and wit have been palpable, TCBH has been inert.
Flat like a can of Coke
Left opened
on
a
picnic table.
Noice, noice but now i'm back - in my new Summer Non-Ratings format.
When originally approached by management ( I know, i am The Administrator but even Administrators have supervisors ) about this gig i cockily told them in a slurring deep drawl, talking through my nose " Eazy. We jus' run awf sum ol progrums like HOOS DA BAWS wid Toni Danza ... and thad show, da wun wid da black kid." Then i remembered, this is a Blog, i don't have lame repeats to rely on.
Anyhow. While checking out other Blogs, looking to shamelessly pilfer code and ideas for Posts, i noticed a trend. Numerous Bloggers are actually chronicling their lives on their Blog. And, um, ah, some of these Bloggers are becoming akin to DJ's, artists of a new medium, wooohhhhhhh, "heavy man." I mean, some of the Blogs are art of at least the pop variety.
Some of the lives are described routinely but are entertaining enough. The life of an anonymous team leader at an unidentified call centre,Call Centre Confidential , reminds us that Office Comedy is now a big and ugly enough genre to warrant HSC study. I laughed but i hear this stuff everyday.
Other Blogs are peopled by characters who are so clear that when you finish a Post you feel they have written you an email. When i read these Blogs I often find myself unconvinced they are non-fiction. Sometimes i really wonder. Take this for example,Belle De Jour , the diary of a London callgirl. This Blog could be any one of a number of things. Just read it and try and figure it out. Tell me when you do ?
One possibility is that Belle De Jour is simply a well written and transgessive (there i go again with that word, again ) work of fiction. I prefer to think this is not the case but who knows ?
